Position Summary

The Business Systems Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to our business partners associated with our back office systems. Business Analyst aligns with Business users and the direction business is taking and becomes an expert in business requirements and acts an expert in Backoffice systems.

Several software partners exist that complement the back office systems as it applies to the development of software applications that support the business. The focus of this position is to work closely with the Oxford functional units to gain in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, roadmap, and work closely with the technical development teams to address the needs of the business. This role is important in understanding and documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges and help transform the business.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for the business users on how the system can be used to operate the business and derive maximum benefits of an ERP application.
  • Work with Product Owner in getting business objectives translated to user stories. Collaborate with the Product Owner in order to gain a clear understanding of all business processes, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Own the User Acceptance Testing Processes and partner with the Learning & Development Team to develop training materials and schedules, and coordinate training content.
  • Development of test scenarios and test cases necessary to assess the quality and completion of system implementations.
  • Conduct Gap Analysis for Training procedures from prior software system(s) to identify Training Highlights
  • Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process.
  • Co-lead with PM monthly governance committee (Help Desk tickets, BH bugs, New Features, BI Involvement).
  •  Assist the Product Owner to record priority order to ensure it is done frequently, completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation, managing project scope, determining daily priorities, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones, following proper escalation paths, and managing end user relationships

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others; articulate ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers, and others; identify and initiate projects; drive the resolution of issues.
  • Provide and support the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, identifying business needs, determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices, monitoring progress and results, and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes and new responsibilities.
  • Serve as a liaison between Operations and IT to assist or gather business requirements needed for system modifications, enhancement, and implementations.
  • Meet with CIO & CFO and Project Team regularly to review project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements.

Skills

  • Follow departmental testing processes to create and document test cases, execute the test cases for the assigned stories, verify and report the results.
  • Understand and clearly document business and systems requirements.
  • Assess business process and system inefficiencies.
  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
  • Identify, create, and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis and design at a complex level; focusing on quality improvement and data management; ensure data is reliable and valid.
  • Work closely with teams surrounding data clean up methods and data migration mapping.
  • Manage Back office and Middle-Office customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results.

Education

Bachelor's Level Degree in Preferred

Experience

  • PeopleTools knowledge and experience a plus
  • Experience as a PeopleSoft functional lead
  • Experience documenting business requirements for IT applications
  • Experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Must have proficiency performing data analysis with Microsoft Excel
  • HCM:  Demonstrated expertise of Payroll, Time & Labor and PayBill a must.  HR and Benefits, a plus

OR

  • FSCM: Demonstrated expertise of Front Office Billing, AR, PayBill, General Ledger and Project Costing a must.  AP and Expense expertise, a plus.
