Position Summary

The Compensation Manager is highly visible and collaborates with senior leadership to establish and execute the strategic direction in the areas of HR tools and Compensation by providing direction, guidance, and advice.  This individual is involved in all aspects of compensation, with a heavy focus on variable, performance related compensation. Utilize the department’s internal resources to develop strategic programs and operational plans that optimize resources, drive efficiency, and improve business processes.  Think creatively and have the ability to diagnose business problems, apply knowledge to determine solutions, and communicate effectively.  Manage staff and HR systems to ensure operations stability. This position reports directly to the SVP of Human Resources and works closely with CEO, CFO and other Financial Analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management to determine appropriate total compensation framework for front and back office and ensure alignment with overall goals and objectives of the company
  • Responsible for handling all areas of compensation, including, providing support in the areas of performance management, planning/forecasting, reporting, financial modeling, and other analyses as required, as said topics relate to compensation. 
  • Establishing the framework for performance bonuses, the documentation of those plans and the tracking of performance vs those bonus plans through the course of the year.
  • This individual will communicate directly with Field Leadership and other Executives and must be comfortable communicating complex topics in the appropriate level of detail.
  • Prepare and distribute information to employees notifying of compensation plans and changes
  • Oversee the design and development of tools to guide managers thru compensation decisions

Additional Responsibilities

  • Advise management of compensation actions for employees and stay current with trends that may influence compensation patterns within the staffing industry
  • Partner with IT to understand the HR related technology roadmap and strategy to ensure the HR system and associated process continue to meet business needs
  • Identify standardized measurements and monitor market data to ensure competitive pay; develop recommendations to adjust salary structure in response to changing organization needs and market to ensure equity
  • Ensure the appropriate Comp/HR reporting is available to the management team to effectively monitor their deliverables and needed actions
  • Develop practices and participate in salary surveys and analyze results to determine the organization’s market relationship
  • Review proposed salary actions to ensure conformance with established guidelines and policies, conduct job analysis to determine appropriate salary level according to compensation guidelines and policies, Review proposal for new and revised classification to determine appropriate salary assignment

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills is a must
  • Creative, outgoing, energetic person with a demonstrable track record of exceeding goals
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven knowledge of MS Office products, including Visio (expert knowledge of PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated experience using HRIS systems required; knowledge of PeopleSoft is a plus

Education

Experience

  • BA/BS Degree preferably in related degree such as human resources, organizational development, or business management
  • 5+ years of compensation experience required
  • Working knowledge of the staffing industry preferred
