Position Summary

The Payroll Support Specialist is the primary support for incoming inquiries for the Payroll Department. This individual also maintains a small portfolio of consultant time and expense review for weekly payroll processing. In this position, the Payroll Specialist will maintain consistent communication to all consultants and Oxford front office staff.  

Responsibilities

  • Manages the various mailboxes for the Payroll department, routing emails to the appropriate support members
  • Heavy emphasis on customer service, researching questions, problems and/or concerns
  • Performs first-level response on tier 1 incoming inquiries
  • Maintains a small portfolio of consultant weekly time and expense for timely payroll processing including; review of timecard and expense information and approvals, follow up on unapproved items, review of expense reports to ensure adherence to company and/or client policy, and preparation of any time& expense related adjustments
  • Create useful resources for training and process improvement

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work with Information Technology Department on issues and testing, as needed
  • Perform work timely, accurately, and thoroughly with a strong attention to detail and organization
  • Respond to and effectively resolve user inquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation and updates as requested
  • Be honest, truthful, credible and maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Backup for other Consultant Payroll specialist(s) as neede
  • Additional duties, as assigned

Skills

Education

Experience

  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of multi-state withholding tax requirements and Per Diem is a plus
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Internet Explorer required
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft or other equivalent employee database programs preferred

Salary Information: $57,000 - $60,000 + bonus
