Position Summary
As the Director of Benefits, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all employee benefits programs within the organization. You will work closely with senior management, HR teams, and external vendors to ensure that our benefits offerings align with the company's goals, meet legal requirements, and effectively support our employees' well-being.

Responsibilities
- Benefits Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive benefits strategy that supports the organization's goals and objectives.
- Plan Design and Administration: Design, implement, and administer employee benefit plans, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other employee perks.
- Compliance Management: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations related to employee benefits (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, Secure Act 2.0, ADA, FMLA) and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
- Leave of Absence/Reasonable Accommodation Management: Maintain a thorough, compliant, and high touch process for handling medical and non-medical leaves of absence and reasonable accommodation requests (e.g. FMLA, CFRA, personal, ADA). Remain available to answer questions and provide guidance to employees and managers.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with benefit vendors, including insurance providers, retirement plan administrators, and other program vendors.
- Employee Communication and Education: Develop communication strategies to educate employees about their benefits options, including creating written materials, and maintaining online resources.
Additional Responsibilities
- Benefits Enrollment: Oversee the annual benefits enrollment process, including coordinating with HR and PeopleSoft teams, communicating deadlines, and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze benefits utilization data, cost trends, and employee feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of current programs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the benefits budget, including forecasting costs, negotiating contracts, and monitoring expenses.
- Employee Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for employees' questions and concerns related to benefits, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
- Team Management: Manages and provides oversight for the Benefits team including, but not limited to:
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
- Planning, assigning, and directing work;
- Appraising performance;
- Rewarding, coaching, and managing employee performance;
- Addressing and resolving concerns.

Education
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of benefits analysis, design, and delivery with at least two years in a leadership role.
- Thorough understanding of employee benefits and leave of absence programs and regulations, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Certification such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) preferred.
- Proficiency in benefits administration software and Microsoft Office Suite required; PeopleSoft preferred.
