Position Summary

The Senior Data Engineer, Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence will play a key role in data analytics, data modeling, and database design from various systems data at Oxford. They will work on a range of projects including batch pipelines, data modeling, and data mart solutions requiring robust data collection and processing pipelines to meet specific business need.

This role requires a commitment to data integrity, being highly analytical, and the ability to work on multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and measure complex ELT jobs to process disparate data sources and form a high integrity, high quality, clean data asset. (Oracle/SAS/GCP)
  • Work with Business and Leaders on Data Warehouse architecture. Build Oracle Fact and Dimension tables, SCD tables, look up and bridge tables
  • Build predictive models for business needs, machine-learning pipelines to produce actionable business intelligence and integrate with other systems
  • Work on a range of projects including batch pipelines, data modeling, and data mart solutions requiring robust data collection and processing pipelines to meet specific business need
  • Work with the IT leaders on Cloud POC and next set of BI tools for the group and Oxford
  • Execute and provide feedback for data modeling policies, procedure, processes, and standards
  • Understand the impact of changes on Integration/ETL/Data Warehouse/Analytics area and document any cross application / functional impact that should be addressed along with the delivery of initiatives
  • Assist with capturing and documenting system flow and other pertinent technical information about data, database design, and systems

Additional Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members, Product Management, Architects, data producers and data consumers throughout the company
  • As appropriate, develop data platform components in a cloud environment to ingest data and events from cloud and on-premise environments as well as third parties
  • Keep knowledge and skills current with the latest cloud services, features, and best practice
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on reporting & analytics for customer facing business functions
  • Work with the business leaders and analysts to identify critical business processes impacted by the project and ensure the project manages to the success of those processes

  • Ability to coordinate with the team using Slack, Agile, JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence and project management
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal relations skills required             
  • Able to work with multiple support and project teams while keeping a focus on the main project or other projects that have broad implications for the business unit and BI teams

Education

Bachelor's Level Degree

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required plus 5+ years of professional experience in building and maintaining Data Warehouse environment – Inmon or Ralph Kimball models.
  • 5+ years of advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence Systems & Tools ( MSFT Sql Server, Oracle, Tableau / SAS BI/ Visual Analytics/ any ETL tool, Market Automation tool-sales Force or Hubspot)
  • 5+ years of strong TSQL scripting, reporting, and analytics
